Lucy studied Ecology and Computer Science at the University of Queensland. From a young age she has had a deep passion for birds, which has significantly shaped her academic and volunteer pursuits in ornithology. Through volunteering with Queensland Wader Study Group and Queensland Bird Research and Banding Group, she gained invaluable field work experience and a deep drive for conservation.

Lucy is now starting her Honours on the elusive Eyrean Grasswren on Ethabuka Reserve. This project aims to address massive knowledge gaps in the habitat requirements and population distribution to inform future management this species.
